Nutrition Institute
University of Texas Nutrition Institute
How can leading-edge nutrition research be translated into accessible content that reflects the collaborative mission of a new university research institute and reaches an ethnic and educationally diverse public audience? The launch of the University of Texas Nutrition Institute offered a unique opportunity to help create and then implement components of a bold public engagement strategy.Â
Â
In the initial phase, the Worldview Studio worked with the new director to identify opportunities for university and regional collaborations, media and experiences. Subsequently, we structured and edited a nutrition guide for oncology patients, including those with limited English or education; developed a prototype and style for public nutrition blogs authored by faculty or students; and designed multiple, complex infographics on the science of nutrition for web, print, and presentation use. We also produced a video to augment a successful grant proposal for evidence-based school gardening and nutrition programs and will be collaborating on the development of the associated digital platform.
