Nutrition Institute

University of Texas Nutrition Institute

How can leading-edge nutrition research be translated into accessible content that reflects the collaborative mission of a new university research institute and reaches an ethnic and educationally diverse public audience? The launch of the University of Texas Nutrition Institute offered a unique opportunity to help create and then implement components of a bold public engagement strategy.

In the initial phase, the Worldview Studio worked with the new director to identify opportunities for university and regional collaborations, media and experiences. Subsequently, we structured and edited a nutrition guide for oncology patients, including those with limited English or education; developed a prototype and style for public nutrition blogs authored by faculty or students; and designed multiple, complex infographics on the science of nutrition for web, print, and presentation use. We also produced a video to augment a successful grant proposal for evidence-based school gardening and nutrition programs and will be collaborating on the development of the associated digital platform.
