Addiction Resources for Policymakers
Stanford Network on Addiction Policy
How can the Stanford Network on Addiction Policy (SNAP), a consortia of psychology researchers from multiple universities and criminal justice professionals, reach policymakers with solution-focused, evidence-based research on critical addiction-related issues? We started by working with SNAP's leaders to select key topics and understand the informational needs of key audiences. We lightly scripted and produced video interviews with four leading researchers connected to a set of “briefing” materials for each key policy challenge that included research-supported addiction causes and consequences and innovative policy solutions. These briefing packages were designed to be engaging and actionable: concise, accessible, visual and easily printed, updated, and expanded to additional addiction issues.
